Tickleberry Run
At last more time in the evenings for Miata drives! I hope everyone is planning on joining Matt for the first Scheduled drive of the season this weekend, Sunday April 10th. The weather has to be good - it's tops down all day!
This is our 5th Annual Ticklberry Run. We will meet at the Hotel Eldorado on Lakeshore Road at the end of Cook Road. We will leave the Hotel Eldorado at 10:30am, so I suggest you show up at 10:20am at the latest. We will stop briefly in Penticton at the Kettle Valley Station Pub at the entrance to Penticton. Just before the Ramada Hotel as you cross the bridge into Penticton. Tim horton's is getting too busy to stop at easily. I expect we will be arriving in Penticton at 11:20 - 11:30.
If you plan to join us on the run please be there early as we don't want to wait long as we want to get to Osoyoos for noon for lunch.
Lunch is an open affair. Pack or buy your lunch, your choice. We will park at the usual spot just across the bridge on Osoyoos Lake. Tickleberry's is our stop on the way home.
Of course the usual, lots of backroads on the way down and back.
Please email any questions to Matt Scaife. |

2005 Annual Sun Run
Matt has informed me that the 2005 Sun Run is booking up quickly this year. As usual, we have received lots of registrations from out of town, but Matt has noticed a shortage of local people with early registrations. It seem the closer we are the longer we think we can wait. There is no priority for club members so don't take the chance of missing out on this great event. Get your registrations in soon! |

Autocross Season
The Okanagan British Car Club is once again holding autocross events this year.
Newcomers are welcome. The first three events are specially designed for the novice driver. See below:
We are holding a pre-registration event for the Okanagan British Car Club Thursday Night Autocross Series. It will be held on Thursday evening at 6:00 PM, April 14th (a week tomorrow), in the parking lot at McCurdy Corner in front of Freddie's Brew Pub. Look for the tent in the parking lot. The racing will start the following Thursday. Show up at 6:00 pm at McCurdy Corner for the pre-registration event.
Earlier this year we had an autocross meeting and we made a few changes to how and what we do. Here are the series details and highlights of the changes for this year.
The Autocross Series starts on April 21 and runs every Thursday evening until August 18. There are also two other event dates thrown in as well. They are Friday May 27th for the Topless Sun Run and Sunday July 10 (this is a morning event) for the Rally In The Valley. All these events will count towards the OBCC series championship. There are a total of 20 events in the series.
Event registration will start at 5:00 PM with racing starting at 6:00 PM. The earlier start will allow us more time to race.
We will be selling our new event punchcards and getting club membership registration done in advance. That way we can spend our time on April 21st racing instead of registering everyone. The cost to join the Okanagan British Car Club for the year is $35 per family. The very first autocross ever, for the family is free.
The Novice events will continue again this year. The first three events of the year and 3 more in the middle of the season will be set up as easy novice events. They are designed for the total novice so that they are easier and less technical. These are the easiest way to introduce new people to autocross. As always people are free to ride along with the more experienced drivers at any time. |
