Topless Sun Run Takao Kijima Presentation
Saturday, May 26, 2007
The Okanagan Valley Miata Club was honoured to have Mr. Takao Kijima, the MX-5 program manager (a.k.a. chief engineer) from Mazda Japan, in attendance at the 2007 Topless Sun Run.
Back in the mid 1980s, Mr. Kijima was Mazda's suspension specialist and was among the original group of engineers asked to develop Mazda's new sports car. Mr. Kijima has been with the Miata project for over two decades since, contributing to all three generations of cars.
Our honoured guest gave a presentation on the history and the future of the Miata / MX-5 during the Saturday evening banquet. This was a truly unique opportunity to hear the inside story from one the Miata's founding fathers.
This is Mr. Kijima's presentation. His accompanying speech appears below each slide.
