Start of the 2025 Season - Presidents Message
April 2025
Welcome to another spectacular year for the members of the Okanagan Valley Miata Club. Some of you may not know that this year is the 25th anniversary for the Okanagan Valley Miata Club. After some diligent sleuthing one of our members (thank you Dot) was able to uncover some information: The idea of a Miata Club for the TB.C. Interior began to percolate after the Sea to Sky Chapter Miata Club organized a run from the Lower Mainland to Kelowna in 1999. The Sea to Sky group repeated the run in 2000, this time inviting other club to joi nthem for a weekend in Kelowna. Seeing the success of those events, Kelowna Motors, the local Mazda dealership, got involved and promoted the idea of a new local club for this Miata customers. The idea was very well received, and the Okanagan Valley Miata Club was born. Happy 25th anniversary OVMC!
I would like to introduce our current executive for our 25 Anniversary year 2025.

Past President - Dot Schroneberg
Vice President - Wade Bottorf
Treasurer - Karen Engleson
Event Coordinator - Allen Batchelar
Membership - Rolly Grimm
Secretary - Lori Crawford
Our run committee has been diligently working behind the scenes to set up a year of runs that should have everyone wanting to avoid holidays and stay home for the season so they will not miss out on these amazing runs.
Our previous year started with an overnight trip to Kaslo at the historic hotel there and ended with our weekend in Osoyoos at Walnut Beach resort with many fabulous runs and Socials in between. We were not curtailed by smoke or fires we have experienced in the past and trusting we experience the same this year. Thank you to all those who shared in the leading, sweeping, and organizing of these runs. If anyone would like to take part in leading or sweeping a run, please let Allen or anyone on the executive know of your interest.
We have planned some BBQ's for our members to enjoy, they will be posted on our website along with the planned runs so you can plan ahead.

Topless Sun Run Notice
February 2024
After much discussion it was agreed that our Club would not consider undertaking the Topless Sun Run for the next few years.
For many years, our Club has enjoyed putting on this event but we feel that perhaps another club could take on this responsibility and offer a different location to meet and drive new routes. It would be great to enjoy other locations and see roads that we would enjoy driving.
