Mara Lake Picnic

Tour Leaders: Brent & Kelly
Brent and Kelly led us to Mara Lake on some absolutely wondrous roads. We had 12 cars from Kelowna, another all the way from Penticton, and 5 more met us in Vernon. After a 90 minute run over a series of twisty, uppy/downy backroads we pulled into Mara Provincial Park where we had the entire place to ourselves. It was a great spot to enjoy lunch, stretch out, walk the beach, throw some bocce balls and mingle.
Then it was back on the road for another super sprint to Sicamous for some decadent ice cream at "D" Dutchman Dairy. We then followed Highway 1 past Salmon Arm and took in some more back roads before heading down Highway 97 towards Vernon. Those headed further south made the remaining journey via Westside Road.
