Paul Lake Picnic

Tour Leaders: Mark & Debi
The run started from Tim Horton's in Westbank and headed over the connector to Merritt. In Merritt we topped up on our brew of choice and regrouped at Walmart. Then it was off to wind our way up the scenic Nicola Valley where we enjoyed rolling ranch lands and little lakes as we dodged the rain showers (all tops stayed down). In north Kamloops we made the turn to Paul Lake. Cruising up the narrow canyon we came out on a beautiful plateau where the twisty road took us to Paul Lake for lunch.
We left Westbank with 10 cars and by the time we reached Paul Lake we had 13 cars and a deck boat. Does a deck boat count as a car? (One of our members lives on Paul Lake and came over by boat.)
After relaxing in the warm sun over lunch and some much needed socializing some folks took part in a highly competitive game of bocce while others broke out the baseball and gloves. After the games it was time to head home.
In east Kamloops we took the turn off to Barnhartvale and found our way through Falkland to outskirts of Vernon. Those that weren't already at home in Vernon split up - a few cars took Westside Road and the rest came home via Kalamalka Lake and Lake Country.
Once again we enjoyed a great day of incredible scenery, friendships and our wonderful cars!
