Topless Sun Run
Friday, May 24 to Sunday, May 26, 2013
Saturday Tour Leader: Bill
Sunday Tour Leaders: Steve, Bill
Friday opened with registration and a meet and greet (complete with piano player) at the Holiday Inn, in West Kelowna.
Saturday morning was spent exploring the back roads of Summerland, then down Green Mountain Road, and back along the Eastlake Road to Skaha Lake Park for a group photo opportunity and a marvellous lunch overlooking the lake. With some threatening clouds approaching from the South, we cut lunch a bit short so we could still enjoy the upper bench region of Penticton before winding along the lakefront of Summerland on the way back to the hotel. Some tops came up briefly with a squall directly opposite from Squally Point in Peachland, but we were back to blue skies by the time we reached the parking lot. The banquet was terrific, with many prizes and laughs. During the banquet a complimentary poster of the group photo taken at Skaha Lake Park was distributed to each car that participated.
On Sunday, Steve lead a large group of cars up Westside Road to send off some of our Albertan guests, and then wound back along Glenmore and out to East Kelowna, while Bill lead a shorter group through East Kelowna and back to the hotel.
