This adventure was in place of the cancelled Adventures In Anacortes event Sept 16-18 By the Club Miata Northwest that Jadine and Alison had planned on going to.
Alison and I had a very wonderful trip as always. We started at the Desert Canyon Golf Resort which was amazing. Fantastic accommodation and amazing golf course with spectacular views of the hills and Columbia River. Our next stop the Swinomish Casino and Resort, golf at Lake Padden on Friday with Dan and Laura from the Northwest Miata Club. Saturday the club organized a run to Whidbey Island over Deception pass. The day started out in the rain, lots of it. But by 10:30 at Fort Casey, we had the tops down the rest of the way. Lunch in Coupeville by the Bay at the Oyster Bar was excellent and the drive around the other side of the island and back across Deception Bay saw tons of excellent scenery and very windy roads!!! 5 stars to this run! We also enjoy drives on Chuckanut Drive, La Conner and Edison. On the way home we took Hwy 20 across the North Cascades and enjoyed amazing views and great weather with an overnight stay in Winthrop. An amazing little town which we loved. Especially, Sheri's Candy Shop. All in all, another great trip! Even got to drive Dan and Laura's 2016 MX-5 with the GT touring package. Very tempting, but way out of my budget! Cheers Jadine and Alison
