Naramata Wine Tour
August 28, 2016
Leader: Bruce Stevenson
Nine little Miatas enjoyed a sunny day in late August touring a select few wineries in the Okanagan. We started at Dirty Laundry in Summerland. This winery is named after the Chinese laundry that ran in the late 1800s. There was not much money in washing clothes and while the men had to wait for their one set of clothes Sam Suey provided them with another service upstairs. It became known as the dirty laundry.
We then made our way to the Naramata bench to sample the fine wines of Hillside Estate winery and then lunch on the patio. We drove on to Lang Vineyards to sample a bit more (less for the drivers).
After Lang, Bruce led the pack down to what is known as railway dock park to view the lake and some of old town Naramata. As the weather was turning cool we all made our way home, with many cars carrying a few bottles of local wine.
