Members of the Okanagan Valley Miata Club attended the Caravan Farm Theatre's production of,
“The Ballad of Weedy Peetstraw.” A Bluegrass Opera by Peter Anderson and John Millard. It was a musical comedy about the crossroads in life, the choices we make, and the people we love! The acting and vocals were excellent and there were many humourous scenes!
Our journey began from the parking lot of the Westbank First Nations mall on the Westside. We had 33 people and 15 cars. (yes the McDonald's brought their friends and the SUV instead of the Miata, for obvious reasons!)
Thanks to Rolly and Al for leading the parade to the farm theater. We headed down Westside Road under great sunny skies to Fintry Provincial park for our picnic. We dined by the water and enjoyed our delicious food!
After the picnic we continued along Westside Road to the farm. This year we had warm weather and sunny skies. No gargabe bags to keep dry from the rain. The production started by a church and a procession of mourners entered with a casket. Suddenly, we all found ourselves being a part of a funeral! Following the funeral we all found seats in the bleachers and the actors continued the story on the stage. Of course it was a happy ending after the drama unfolded and we all left as the sun set smiling after another excellent performance at the Caravan Farm Theatre!!! Until next year...
